STEP – Student Emergency Preparedness Program (Junior Classes)

The grade 4, 5, 6 classes have been participating in STEP program this week (Tues, Wed, Thurs).

The program covers the 4 easy steps that need to be taken to be prepared for emergencies and disasters:

  • Know the Risks
  • Make a Plan
  • Prepare a Kit
  • Know what to do

STEP is a public education program offered by County of Simcoe Emergency Management Department.  It is designed to increase student safety by making them better prepared for emergencies and disasters. We would like to thank Mr. Heffernan, Training and Promotion Coordinator – County of Simcoe, Emergency Management Dept.  for providing this program to our students.

Students have the opportunity to enter a draw for a chance to win a Canadian Red Cross 72-Hour Disaster kit.
