International Student Exchange Information

Please note that ISE Ontario has an agreement with the SCDSB to provide exchanges for elementary and secondary students.  The SCDSB agrees to make exchange information available to its students, and publishing the dates and locations of these upcoming meetings is a simple way to “get the word out” to all SCDSB students.

ISE Ontario would like to invite interested students and parents to an information meeting night, to learn about exciting exchange opportunities for Grade 7 – 11 students.   ISE Ontario has a formal agreement with the Simcoe County DSB to offer exchanges to students within the board.

Please choose the evening best suited to your schedule and RSVP with the choice of evening to Aubrey Hawton, Simcoe Region Program Manager: aubreyhawton@iseontario.on.ca

Daily Announcements

Tuesday November 4, 2014

  • Tomorrow is Waste Free Wednesday. Earn spirit points, win a trophy for your class, and help our environment at the same time by only using reusable containers for your lunch. So, get packing Birchview. Good luck!
  • Reminder that there is a Caribou Math meeting in the computer lab at 10:35 today. Please come so you can learn what game you will be playing and the history question.  See all Caribou math participants in the computer lab at 10:35.
  •  This is another EcoTeam reminder to help our environment by bringing in your old cell phones. Look on the school blog in the near future for links with more information about what other items you can bring and common questions, like: “how do I erase the memory first?” Place the cell phone in the box in the front foyer and tell Mr. Pinkerton in order to claim your spirit points.
  •  Spirit points will also be awarded for recycling batteries here at Birchview. Make sure you put masking tape over the positive leads on all rectangular 9 volt and 6 volt batteries. You can find tape attached to the white deposit bucket in the front foyer. Then, come see Mr. Pinkerton to claim your spirit points.
  •  This Friday is our next spirit day. Here is your chance to dress like you favourite story book character. You could be Anna from Frozen,  Little Red Riding Hood, or even the Cat in the Hat. The possibilities are endless.

Nov 27 – Ladies Night Out: One Stop Holiday Shop

School Council.  At this Vendor’s Fair we will host our families and community members in our school gym and/or corridors.  They will have the opportunity to browse through displays provided by our many partners, purchase items and services, and enjoy some holiday celebration.

Funds raised from this event will be used towards updating our library for our students and technology.
