First Rider Program at Birchview on Sat., August 23rd

The SCSTC has scheduled a number of First Rider Program presentations throughout Simcoe County. This program gives JK/SK/Primary students and their parents a basic understanding of safety, rules, and procedures on the school bus. The SCSTC, with the support of local bus operators, will staff the entire program.

The format for the First Rider Program is as follows:

1. The program starts every hour on the hour from 9:00 am -11:00 am (9, 10 & 11 am)

2. Topics covered in the program include: Bus Driver responsibilities; Parent responsibilities; Student responsibilities; School responsibilities; School bus facts and information; Safety rules on and around the bus.

3. View a First Time Rider school bus safety video.

4. Go for a short bus ride to review safe loading, unloading and bus riding procedures.
