  • Congratulations to all junior and intermediate students who participated in their track and field days this week. We had great weather to be outside! It was so nice to see students showing character and demonstrating positive sportsmanship. Many staff commented on this and we’re impressed by all students who were cheering on their peers during the events. Well done Birchview!  For today’s 800m races, only the students who are interested in running this event will need to meet Mrs. Duits outside on the tarmac. Please come outside at your grade’s appropriate time ready to run. The times are as follows: grade 5 at 2pm, grade 6 at 2:15pm, and grade 4 at 2:30pm. Friday will be the junior students’ 400m races.  Keep training and see you then!

Many staff commented on the character and sportsmanship demonstrated while students were participating in the events and also when cheering for their peers on the sidelines. There are too many impressive results to share over the announcements. The 800m races will be on Wednesday during the last block and the 400m races on Friday. Keep practicing and come to school prepared with proper shoes for those races. Good luck to all intermediate students participating in today’s events.  At recess today, students are asked to stay off the track lines again so they stay visible for the entire day. Staff on outside duty, if you could assist in reminding students, that would be great.  Next week students will be notified if they have qualified to move on to the area meet at SCI.  Well done Blazers;)
